Colourful candelabras in Quarry Bank Mill Garden

On a weekend visit to the National Trust’s Quarry Bank Mill Garden at Styal in Cheshire there was late spring colour in abundance. The azaleas may be getting a little past their best now, but the rhododendrons are still going strong and their blousy blooms are hard to miss.

The instant hit for me though was the sweeping bank of candelabra primulas that first greeted us as we entered the garden. A welcome splash of colour to warm up this so far chilly month of June.
